Summary -

Being a goddess is a lot less fun than you might think. Especially when you’re only a half goddess, and you only found out about it recently, and you still don’t know what you’re doing half the time. And when you’ve just used your not-so-reliable powers to burglarize the booby-trapped office of a vampire mob boss.

Yeah, that part sucks.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg for Cassandra Palmer, aka the Pythia, the freshly minted chief seer of the supernatural world. After all, Cassie still has to save a friend from a fate worse than death, deal with an increasingly possessive master vampire, and prevent a party of her own acolytes from unleashing a storm of fury upon the world. Totally just your average day at the office, right?  (Goodreads)

Review -

Non-stop action right from the very beginning!  For readers who were left devastated from the ending of the last installation of this series', just wait until the end of this one.

Tempt the Stars begins with Cassiie searching, desperately, for a way to save Pritkin.  Which should be simple for someone who has the ability to control time, right?  Wrong.  Just because one can control time, no one can control life.  And when you're a walking national disaster like Cassie you have to learn to expect the worst possible, and impossible, to things to happen.  Especially when the only way to save Pritkin is to walk into the very gates of Hell.  And in the process she proves that no matter what is thrown her way, a Pythia is truly a force to be reckoned with.

During this journey readers also learn that Pritkin's,  or shall I say Emry's, father does not only see him as a possession to be used and exploited.  Rosier truly does love his son, its just not expressed in quite the same way coming from a demon.

Tempt the Stars is extremely fast paced (yay!), full of non-stop action, heart-breaking, tear jerking moments and edge of your seat what's going to happen next moments as well.  And sorry
Team Mircea, he isn't a very big presence in this book.  But if you could try not to dwell on that fact, you will learn what special chemistry Cassie and Pritkin have together.  How their feelings have nothing to do with status, looks, ability, just each other.

While this book can be a stand alone, I highly recommend reading this entire series, in order.
